Welcome to my lemons page. Here’s the deal.
When life gives you lemons…
Well, I have been handed a bushel of lemons. Figuratively. But again, here’s the deal…I like lemons. They are tangible sunshine. Edible sunshine. What could possibly be better?
I grew up in Arizona. Our next door neighbors had a lemon tree. It was large, as I remember it. Not like one of the minis you can put in your sun room today. Not only was the tree big, the lemons it produced were as well.
My mom asked if the neighbors minded if she picked those on our side of the fence, as a few branches reached over. They replied, no ma’m, in fact we do not like lemons, so come over to our side and pick as many as you like!
So, all those years ago, my mom was also given lemons. In a more positive way. My mom juiced them, froze the juice, and we had lemonade from concentrate year round. So much better than Country Time, thank you. She made other creations as well.
I decided to take the opportunity life has afforded me, and create something with the lemons I have been handed.
- I love to bake
- I love to create
- my great grandma’s name was Lena Mae and I loved her and still cherish many memories we shared
I put this together, and decided to give something new a whirl:
lena mae baked goods

The focus, solely on lemons. At least for now. Lemon cookies, plus a few other items. It’s a niche!?! And a sunny, yellow one. Which brings me joy. I’m certain there will be different iterations. For example, I am not sold on the words “baked goods” so I am open to ideas. But the name Lena Mae is a for sure. It fits.
