Lena Mae

Hello world,

Today is officially Lena Mae Day! Lena Mae is my baked goods business, named after my great grandma. August 2 was her birthday, so I’m celebrating today by remembering how lovely and wonderful she was.

A few facts about my great grandma: She was born in 1904, in what was then Indian Territory (present day northeastern Oklahoma). Her father was 50% Native American, from the Lenape tribe. She lived in the same county her entire life, became a widow at 62, and came to visit my family in Arizona each summer.
