true calling?

I think about the word {calling} often as of late. Here’s the thing.  My family moved specifically to the home I currently dwell in for a reason.  Because of the neighborhood.  Because of our priorities, thoughts, convictions, beliefs.  All that stuff.  Well, divorce certainly throws a wrench in much of that.  Do I still hold … More true calling?

state of religion

I reminded myself today I live in the state of Kentucky because of religion.  Due to the fact our family moved here a bit over 10 years ago to work in a church.  And even way before that, in 1991, I moved here with my husband so he could attend Asbury Theological Seminary.  If I’m honest, … More state of religion

I printed out an Isaiah verse in one of my current favorite fonts, which is pupcat.  Here’s the alphabet, all 26 letters, in pupcat: It’s nice, isn’t it?  Anyway….the verse I printed is technically two, Isaiah 43:18-19, from The Message. Here’s the thing.  I’ve been down lately.  Focused on the old.  Focused on the “why … More brand-new

I challenge me

We’ve all played the games. I challenge you to…….. Well, I decided to forget the you and challenge myself. scattered thoughts

My mind jumps.  From one thought to another.  Work to bills to my daughter in a foreign country to my son in another city to spray painting random home objects to filling my car with gas to grocery shopping to yard work and on and on. My kids and I spent last Friday night in St. Louis.  We walked from our hotel, which was really close to downtown to a restaurant which actually was downtown.  We walked past the sky scrapers and some people hanging out in parks.  We walked through a sculpture garden.  We saw art deco designed courthouses and … More colors

roads

This summer has taken me to five cities.   Cincinnati Columbus Tulsa St. Louis Louisville I have navigated through at least a part of each of them.  Driving down roads and freeways.  Up to this point in my life, I haven’t been the designated driver, so to speak.  But divorce means nearly everything changes, travel … More roads
