Flapjack Friday Faves [03.21]

Happy Friday.  Happy Spring {finally!}.  Happy March Madness.  And happy National Ravioli Day if you missed it yesterday.

While purusing the library on Monday, I came across a new Max Lucado book.  Mind you, I have not read a Max Lucado book in years.  I like him, have enjoyed what I’ve read in the past, but at some point fell out of the Lucado habit.  Well, this one jumped out at me.  It’s title,  You’ll Get Through This: Hope and Help for Your Turbulent Times seemed quite appropriate to my current life situation.  Here’s a Max quote from the first chapter:

You’ll get through this. It won’t be painless. It won’t be quick. But God will use this mess for good. In the meantime don’t be foolish or naïve. But don’t despair either. With God’s help you will get through this.

Despite the fact I’ve lost quite a few pounds in recent months, I still enjoy a good meal.  Here’s what’s for dinner.  Well, actually, I most likely won’t take the time to make the chimicurri this time around, but we’ll make some form of adaption:

If you’re a regular on my blog, you know I’ve recently said good-bye to cable television.  This means daughter Allie and I have to be a bit more creative in deciding upon what tv programs to watch, or if we should choose a movie from Amazon instead.  I have come to enjoy season one of Veronica Mars.  Yes, I plan to see the recently released movie too.  I don’t know why but I’ve always enjoyed teen shows…..  Maybe it’s a sign of veronicamy maturity?

I’m starting to think about gardening for the season.  And I can’t help but wonder why we buy dirt?  Why purchase potting soil?  Isn’t the entire planet filled with dirt?  At least the portion not covered with water…..  Makes no sense.  I think I’ll attempt to dig up part of my neighborhood park to fill my flower pots this year.  Please don’t report me to Parks & Rec or the police.

Photo Friday, anyone?  Here are three that describe daughter Allie’s current existence:

Hope you have a lovely weekend.  Remember, no matter how cold it might get, it’s officially Spring.  Grace and peace….
